just poppin' in to speak up on behalf of our dear Miss Firth.....if you read Part Four (Methods of Defence), you'll find that she does indeed recommend eating meat to ground and fortify against 'wandering too far into Magonia'. Vegetarianism has been a fad in various 'elevated' circles for centuries now so she'd had opportunity to observe it's effect.

Thank you so much for these interviews with Allen Greenfield! Allen and Violet - two of my favorites in one podcast, i must be dreaming!! :) steph

Brian,

What you've offered is not a criticism. It's merely an expression of disagreement. When you provide reasons for your disagreement other than tradition, then it will be productive criticism. Your response highlights why I'm such a fan of IAO131: he's grounding the work in products of critical dialog and healthy skepticism instead of vague feelings, inclinations, and tradition.

We have few tools that help us discern truth with any accuracy. IAO131's work is based on the repeated use of these tools. I wish that wasn't so controversial in the magic community.

Just my two cents as well. Thanks for taking the time. :)

-swiped directly from Dogon Wiki-I have also read excerpts from van Beek's work on this subject and the characterization would make a great movie. -"More recently, doubts have been raised about the validity of Griaule and Dieterlein's work.[23][24] In a 1991 article in Current Anthropology anthropologist Walter van Beek concluded after his research among the Dogon that,

Excellent show.
Got to see some of your passionate interests, along with those of the author. I'm about 1/3 through the book.
Suggestion: both you and JTP mentioned several websites.
Why not list them in in the show notes?
peace,
